ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday (today) on a two days official visit to Pakistan.
The Turkish president will also be accompanied by delegate of his ministers, advisors and business personalities.
During his visit, the Turkish president will also address the joint-session of the parliament on Thursday and would be visiting Lahore as well. Erdogan will meet President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his visit.
The Turkish president will discuss Pak-Turk relations, regional and world scenarios and other maters during these meetings. After the address at joint-session of the parliament, the Turkish president will be invited to a feast by Pakistani president. Erdogan is also scheduled to pay a visit to Lahore where Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will host a dinner in his honour.

The Punjab chief minister will also arrange a sumptuous feat for respectable guests at Lahore Fort. The Foreign Office revealed that the Turkish president’s visit will further strengthen the cordial relationships that the two countries share and that Turkey has always supported Pakistan over issues like Kashmir and other strategic matters.
It should be noted that this will be Erdogan’s fourth state visit to Pakistan. He first visited Pakistan on 21st May 2012 as the country’s prime minister. He visited Pakistan as Turkey’s prime minister for the second time on 17th September 2013. He made his first state visit as the Turkish president on 1st August 2015.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) upheld its earlier stance of not attending the joint parliamentary session on November 17, which will be addressed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“We would not attend the assembly sessions, where its prime minister is facing corruption charges,” he said. Imran Khan added that his party would continue the boycott of parliament till the Supreme Court’s decision in the Panama Leaks case.
Earlier, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi had met with the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan to discuss this issue.
